What is your style philosophy?
M: My style philosophy is be free, be you, at a bargain even better lol (thrifting gal)

How would you describe your sense of style?
M: My style doesn’t cater to one theme, I would say it is tribal glam girl with simplicity and comfort. You have to be comfortable with what you wear to exude confidence and attitude for the rest of the day.

What is your process of deciding what to wear in the morning?
M: My process of deciding what to wear in the morning is selecting one key piece and working around it.

What are the three favorite things in your closet?
M: Favorite 3 things for the Fall, which is my all time favorite season: my father’s vintage Marine, green cargo oversized jacket; bold and detailed (print, pattern, embroidered) sweatshirts and a pair of detailed boots. I like statement pieces.

What are some of your favorite shops/websites for clothes, shoes and accessories?
M: Favorite stores:,,, Salvation army, Goodwill. And Lilette Jewelry of course 😉

How long have you been natural?
M: I have been natural my whole life. I never ever wanted to relax my hair and I went against all my mother’s attempts to do so during junior high school. I was always proud and happy for standing up to that decision. As a little girl after my mother shampooed and conditioned my hair, I used to run and stay in mirror for 5 minutes happy to see and play in my hair and curls. I never wanted to stop getting that feeling.

What is your signature hairstyle?
M: My signature style is wearing my hair out or in a frohawk. I love the way bantu knots and cocoon curls look, especially on 2 or 3 day old hair with a few touch ups in some spots. I wear those out and use a pick to make them bigger. I might lose some definition but that’s fine with me, the bigger the better.

Describe your styling regimen over the course of the month.
M: My styling regimen over the course of a month includes deep conditioning every 2 to 4 weeks with egg, mayo, oils (rosemary, lavender, jasmine), coconut oil and avocado or banana. I shampoo with Crème of Nature Argan Oil Shampoo or Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo. I co wash with Aussie Moist 3 Minute Reconstructor or Herbal Essences Hello Hydration every week or two, depending on if I want to ruin a 2-day hair style lol. I love big hair and I achieve that the most on old hairstyles. Styling usually consist of bantu knots, cocoon curls and two strand twists with shea butter (one of my best friends). After those run their course well-conditioned buns using Shea Moisture Curl Milk or Smoothie, shea butter and coconut oil or olive oil spritz is my go to.

Is there a blog/webpage where we can find you?
