Last month I celebrated my birthday—blank stare —and finally accepted the sad truth that, at my age, birthdays are no longer as exciting as they were when I was a child. Nonetheless, the beauty lover in me loves gifting myself. Who doesn’t love the ritual of giddily opening presents you receive in the mail? Doesn’t matter that you already know what’s inside, and that you’re in mid-dispute with Amex over the sketchy coupon code. Doesn’t make it any less magical.

Urban Decay The Electric Palette
Urban Decay had me at the dope packaging! It includes ten insanely vivid high-definition pressed pigments; eight are brand-new shades. This palette just screams FUN, girls. Endless color combos for summer.
Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Pure Hair Oil & Hair Sheen
In my quest to get my hair all the way together, I’d been searching for a light sealant to help retain moisture. After recently launching in Target, Carol’s Daughter introduced two new products into its Black Vanilla Line. The Black Vanilla Pure Hair Oil makes for a luxurious hot oil treatment, and the Vanilla Hair Sheen replenishes shine (my hair’s crazy dry, I was stunned at the results).
Aveeno Positively Radiant Targeted Tone Corrector
I’ve tried a few dark spot remover creams, but with little success. I almost gave up the fight. However, I do enjoy Aveeno and perked up when I saw their new Targeted Tone Corrector. I have quite a few stubborn dark spots and some pesky hyperpigmentation but may the odds be ever in my favor! Just started using the cream…love the texture, but I’ll check back in about the results.
