Introduce yourself!
A:
Hi my name is Abimbola, family and friends call me Abi. I live in High Wycombe, England. I currently work as an allocator (Merchandiser) at The Perfume Shop.

What is your style philosophy?
A:
For me I try not to follow every single trend and fashion craze that comes along, it’s about uniqueness and standing out. I like to buy clothing that may be in trend at the time, but that are classic and pleasant enough to stand the test of time.

How would you describe your sense of style?
A:
I would describe my style as simple and girly, although I do like to switch it up sometimes.

What is your process of deciding what to wear in the morning?
A:
I always try to plan my outfits the night before so I don’t have to rush and stress in the morning but 3 out of 5 times I always change it up a bit depending on the weather and what my mood is that day.

What are the three favourite things in your closet?
A:
–       My Black Skater Skirt, this is my go to skirt when I’m having of those ‘’I can’t decide on what to wear day’’
–       My Yellow Shoes
–       My white shirt

What are some of your favourite shops/websites for clothes, shoes and accessories?
A:
New Look, Office, Zara, H&M, TopShop, River Island, Vintage Stores, Forever21, Select, Internacionale and online stores like ASOS and Boohoo.

How long have you been natural?
A:
11 months now

How and why did you transition into natural hair?
A:
I relaxed my hair when I was 13 even though my mum didn’t approve, I lost most of my hair in the process so I ended up cutting it all off and starting again, but I ended up relaxing it again.

It wasn’t until last year September that I thought to myself what is the point in all this, I have sensitive scalp which means relaxing is always a painful process for me and to top it all up I have fine hair, my hair always end up looking scanty and I couldn’t really do much with it.

What is your signature hairstyle?
A:
I can’t really say I have one; I don’t keep a style for too long, I usually experiment with my hair to see what suits me and what works great with my hair but right now I love my new hair colour, so bright and vibrant.

Describe your styling regimen over the course of the month.
A:
My hair is fine and extremely soft, making it really easy to work with.

I wash my hair every week using Herbal Essences Shampoo or Aussie Shampoo, I deep condition after I have shampoo my hair. I use extra virgin olive oil and Herbal Essences Conditioner or Aussie Moist Conditioner; I comb my hair while the conditioner is still in using a wide tooth comb, then I put on a plastic cap and leave the conditioner in for several minute. I rinse the conditioner and oil out using lukewarm water.

After I’ve rinsed out all the conditioner, I squeeze any surplus water and apply either my Shea butter or coconut oil and I set it in twists and let it air dry or I wrap my hair in satin fabric and let it dry overnight.

Putting my hair in twists while my hair is still slightly damp gives me more defined curls.
