When I was eight, Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long” was everything. The video came out, and everybody was partying in these preternaturally bright, primary colors. There was tribal-ish dancing and floral hair accessories. There were brown boys playing steel drums. And in my head, whenever I saw ads for Hawaiian vacations, or wore jams (remember jams?) with day-go flower prints, I decided I was giving Calypso Realness.

Shu Uemura Mika for Shu Anti-Shine Fresh Cleansing Oil is a work of art. This huge, limited edition bottle is too fancy and luxurious to be believed. Truly a work of art; so pretty on your counter. But that’s besides the point — it actually houses a lightweight, gently moisturizing cleansing oil that leaves your face squeaky-clean (eye makeup and mascara, obliterated)…but softly hydrated. I also use it to clean my brushes.
As I’ve mentioned before, my blowouts are SO dead. Lifeless. Lately, I’ve been using Davines NaturalTech Replumping Shampoo to help add some much-needed lushness! It contains something called petit gran oil, which helps give hair elasticity and volume. Totally works — my hair ends up fluffy to a fault. Plus, it smells like the Tuileries Garden.
