It all started with some very ill-advised lyrics by rapper Future. His new song How It Feel includes thinly-veiled jabs at his ex, singer Ciara. But it wasn’t until the song’s outro monologue that he really started to get out of line.
“I made you, b*tch… B*tch, you weren’t nothing before me. I gave you fame on the ’gram. I put you back on them charts… We gave you b*tches some hits.”
“I made you, b*tch… B*tch, you weren’t nothing before me. I gave you fame on the ’gram. I put you back on them charts… We gave you b*tches some hits.”
Um, the question is… How?
Ciara had her first major hit 12 YEARS ago (when she was just 18) with her first single Goodies, which spent seven weeks at number 1 on the Billboard charts. Her debut album, also released in 2004 and of the same name, went 5 times platinum. Future, by comparison, wasn’t even a blip on the pop culture radar in 2004, and didn’t sign his first major recording contract until 2011. While it could be argued that, yes, Ciara’s singing career has cooled off in recent years (although her high fashion modeling career is heating up), it still doesn’t support Future’s argument, which would require some form of time traveling to be true.
Perhaps more hilarious Future’s logic are the many tweets DRAGGING him…
Tryna understand how Future "made" Ciara when she had number one singles before he even started rapping pic.twitter.com/t2aMsE2pH0
